Highlights from 2016 Design Home

So much of my life centers on creating a space to welcome and love people well.  If I had to give a tagline to my life and design . . . this is it.  Nothing welcomes people more than the table. Walking into a room and seeing a place set for me at a table warms my heart and says you are welcome here.  The personal, “Hey, I thought about you and want you to know how excited I am to welcome you in for a meal” is what I love about dining rooms.  So each place is set with love, individuality of a unique place setting, the color of nature of the sweet clementines, and the warmth of layered textiles.

If your home is anything like mine, we need a central command center.  The vintage blue door functions as my command center.  It’s home to all the “Must Haves” but designed with beauty in mind.  The chicken hen old is great for kids school papers, a quick place for me to jot my notes, upcoming events, and to do’s, a place to grab that much needed, “Hey, mom, I need a pencil.” and a notepad for the never-ending target list.  The three clipboards currently function as Meal Planning, Grocery List and Weekly Activities or when I had little ones, they hosted Chore Charts and displayed their Mona Lisa.  The hooks were placed with lunch bags in mind.
