Highlights from 2017 Design Home

The family room is inspired by my love of old and new and my desire to bring the outside in.  I started with great “bones” when I fell in love with the classic navy sofa with nailhead detailing.   This sofa grounds the room and allows the metals of the coffee table come alive. The uniqueness of the metal arms on the side chair stand out against the backdrop of the Dove White walls and the subtle yet warm area rug.  I love the powerful statement the black cathedral arch makes, this piece highlights how large scale pieces can work in small spaces.

The soft greens of the ferns against the rustic texture and color of galvanized metal stands out against the woods of the coat cubby.   Again, this year we see the popular succulents.  I love these succulents and flowers because they need no watering or light.  I grew up with a local legend . . . my grandmother and mom, were both known for their green thumbs.  When it comes to me, I always say it skipped a generation.  I can’t keep anything alive! However,  I truly love the color and life plants  bring into the home. So I’m always looking for natural, life like plants.  These succulents and flowers don’t disappoint.
